Have you been swept up in the craft beer craze? If so, you’re not alone. Craft beer has exploded in popularity in recent years, where beer-drinking apps and brewery tours have become all the rage.
The Poconos has its fair share of local breweries that are making truly spectacular brews. Come for a visit and we’ll make sure you don’t leave without checking in some new craft beers to Untappd that will make all your beer-drinking friends jealous.
1. Breaker Brewing Company 787 East Northampton Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, PA
(33 minutes from Split Rock Resort)
The Breaker Brewing Company started from humble beginnings, when Chris Miller and Mark Lehman set up a home brewing operation in 2005. What started as a hobby turned into a passion for creating and sharing great tasting brews. The pair established The Breaker Brewing Company and began selling commercially in 2009.
The operation continued to grow, creating demand for a larger space to brew. Chris and Mark purchased an old school house in 2011 and converted it into a brewery, complete with a tap and tasting room for growler fills and a full dining menu.

Tuesday - Wednesday: 5pm to 9pm
Thursday - Friday: 4pm to 9pm
Saturday: 12pm to pm
2. Conyngham Brewing Company 309 Main Street, Conyngham, PA
(35 minutes from Split Rock Resort)
If you're a beer drinker who loves trying small batch brews, then this self-distributing microbrewery is right up your alley. Conyngham Brewing Company has an onsite taproom, where they keep a rotating selection of eight to twelve beers on tap.
The brewery doesn't have a kitchen but guests are welcome to bring in their own food. Better yet, many of the restaurants in the neighborhood will deliver right to the brewery,

Thursdays: 5:30pm to 10pm
Fridays: 5:30pm to 11pm
Saturdays: 2pm to 11pm
3. Red Castle Brewery & Brewpub 80 East Bridge Street, Lehighton, PA
(31 minutes from Split Rock Resort)
The fine folks at Red Castle Brewery pride themselves on using only natural, locally-sourced ingredients. That means you won't find any preservatives, corn syrup, or rice in these brews and they only use non-GMO grains. Stop by the Brewpub and taste what a difference it makes.
Founded in 2014 by Frank Potoczak, the Red Castle Brewpub offers a full menu of comfort foods that pair well with the delicious beer they're serving up.

4. Susquehanna Brewing Company 635 South Main Street, Pittston, PA
(37 minutes from Split Rock Resort)
The Susquehanna Brewing Company was founded on in 2010 by Ed Maier, his son Fred, and Mark Nobile. Ed and Fred are 5th and 6th generation brewers, tracing their brewing lineage back to 1857, when their great grandfather Charles Stegmaier co-founded the Baer and Stegmaier Brewing Co. of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Stop by the tasting room to see what's on tap and experience what 6 generations of brewing history tastes line.

Susquehanna Brewing Company offers free tours of the brewery on Saturday that start at 2pm and 4pm.
