3 World Class Ski Mountains a Short Drive from Split Rock Resort

As the temperatures drop, it’s time for winter sports enthusiasts to start planning their ski trips. The Poconos Mountains remain one of the highest rated terrains across the United States and east coast of Canada. There are three great mountains a short drive from Split Rock to satisfy guests off all skill levels:
Jack Frost and Big Boulder
Located just ten minutes from Split Rock, Jack Frost Big Boulder is actually two mountains. Jack Frost offers twenty trails, including 4 beginner trails, 6 intermediate, 8 black diamond, and 2 freestyle terrain parks, accessed by 12 chairlifts. The trails have a vertical drop of 600 feet.
Meanwhile, Big Boulder boasts the most progressive and innovative terrain park program in the Poconos, with fifteen trails, including 4 beginner trails, 3 intermediate, 3 black diamond, and 5 freestyle terrain parks, accessed by 10 chairlifts. The trails have a vertical drop of 475 feet.

Camelback Mountain
The largest ski resort in the Poconos is located just 35 minutes from Split Rock. Camelback offers 38 ski and snowboarding trails. Accessed by 15 chairlifts, the ski resort features 12 beginner trails, 12 intermediate, 7 back diamond, 1 double black diamond, and 6 terrain parks. The Nile Mile is the mountain’s longest trail at 1 mile long.
Trails on the mountain have a vertical drop of 800 feet.
Blue Mountain
Blue Mountain, located 40 minutes from Split Rock Resort, is best known for being Pennsylvania’s highest vertical and having the longest ski runs in the state. The trails have a vertical drop of 1,087 feet!
Accessed by 16 ski lifts, Blue Mountain offers 39 ski trails; 14 beginner, 5 intermediate, 11 black diamond, 4 double black diamond, and 5 terrain parks.
Experts will enjoy runs like Challenge and Razor's Edge, a 3,000-foot double black diamond trail.
